Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using LocalLoop, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

LocalLoop is a community-driven map for neighbourhood news, events, and local services. We provide the platform "as is" without guarantee of uptime or content accuracy.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping credentials secure. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User content

You retain ownership of content you post. You grant LocalLoop a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and distribute your content in connection with the service. You warrant you have the rights to post the content.

5. Comments and your responsibility

When you post comments on news stories or other community content, you are legally responsible for your own words. LocalLoop provides a platform for locals to share information; we do not write, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of user comments.

You must not post content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, infringing, hateful, threatening, or that may offend, harm, or mislead others. You must not impersonate another person or publish content you do not have the right to share. LocalLoop is not responsible for individual users’ opinions, tone, mistakes, or personal idiosyncrasies expressed in comments.

We may remove comments, restrict accounts, or report serious matters to authorities where required by law. By posting a comment you confirm you have read these Terms and accept responsibility for what you publish.

This section is a plain-language platform rule and is not legal advice. If you need legal guidance, consult a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction.

6. Acceptable use (general)

You will not post content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, infringing, hateful, or that endangers others. You will not attempt to compromise the platform, scrape at scale, or impersonate others. You will not use LocalLoop to publish commercial spam.

7. Moderation

We may remove content that violates these Terms, applicable law, or our community guidelines. Repeat violations may lead to permanent ban.

8. Copyright (DMCA)

To report infringing content, follow the DMCA Procedure. We respond to valid notices in line with the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act and analogous AU/EU laws.

9. Termination

The current repo does not yet ship a production-ready self-serve Settings → Privacy account-delete flow, so use citylocalloop@gmail.com for account-deletion requests until the dedicated legal/privacy aliases and full self-serve delete workflow are verified live. We may terminate accounts for cause with reasonable notice except for serious or repeat violations.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim all warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Liability cap

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LocalLoop's aggregate liability arising from or related to the service is limited to AUD $100.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Disputes will be resolved in NSW courts unless mandatory consumer-protection laws require otherwise.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes are announced in-app at least 14 days in advance.
